Time is flying by and Coen is getting so big. He is already a couple weeks into this 6 month thing and he has decided to become a crawling, babbling, laughing little baby. He still has several fussy moments throughout the day but I think he knows that if he wants to be heard over Nole he has to make a little noise now and then!
6 month stats:
Weight 18 lbs 15 oz, 76th percentile
Height 27 inches, 64th percentile
Head 17.5 inches, 80th percentile
It seems we hardly ever call him Coen...usually it's something more like Coe Coe, CoCo Boco, Mister, Little Brother, Coconut, and Coe Boy, to name a few.
Nole and Coen have developed a super sweet relationship. Coen adores Nole and watches him like a hawk. Nole likes to help me get Coen up after his nap and make him laugh. Nole also snuggles up with him on the floor or on the bed, tries to share toys with him, sneaks in kisses, yet occasionally has a panic attack whenever Coen gets too close to his coveted possessions.
Coen loves to be tickled. He blows very loud bubbles. He babbles a lot sayings "babababa" "dadadada". He has the sweetest little voice. He lets out a happy squeal when someone tries to entertain him. He LOVES smiling and talking to himself in the mirror.
He loves eating baby food. He makes a huge mess any time he is being fed in his high chair. He insists on holding the spoon as I feed him and I'm a pretty big softy when it comes to enforcing certain rules with my kids, so now it all has become a super messy process. I rotate two spoons at every feeding. Both spoons fly through the air and onto the floor multiple times each meal leaving a nice messy goo just about everywhere in a 10 ft. radius of his high chair. Micah refuses to take part in the "process" so Coen gets a little ticked when Micah won't hand over the spoon.
Coen hasn't made it through a church service in a couple months now. He makes just enough of a commotion that Micah or I has to stand up and walk him around, none of this quietly listening to the sermon will do for him.
He had his first major cold during the week of Thanksgiving. He was just pitiful :( Temp of 103, nose and chest congestion, wheezing and coughing. I think we took turns holding him for 3 days straight, including while he slept. He moaned almost constantly which broke my heart. He absolutely hated taking tylenol or ibuprofen which made it that much worse. I am so thankful Micah was home all week. We sure won't forget this Thanksgiving, two sick boys and no time for turkey!
Coen nurses about every two hours during the day. He eats baby food three times a day. Goes to sleep between 7 and 8. A normal night he sleeps until about 4 am, nurses, then sleeps until 6:30 am, and decides he wants to be up for the day. Naps are usually short, no longer than 30 minutes. Unless he's really sleepy or we are extra quiet, then he might surprise us with a random long nap. He naps about 3 times a day.
He still sleeps in the cradle next to me and usually winds up in bed with us by morning. I love getting him after his nap...his little fuzzy haired head is popped up, peeking over the side of the cradle or pillows with his big eyes and always has a huge smile!
He wears a size 3 diaper, is on the medium snaps of his NanaPants, and wears anything from 9 month to 18 month clothing. No teeth yet, though Nole didn't get his first until around 9 months so we will see what happens. He really like his pacifier, much to his daddy's dismay.
Coen is very happy in my arms, yet has a special relationship with Micah. He can't wait to be old enough to wrestle and be tossed around by dad, just like his older brother.
He is so sweet and smiley. So fiery and determined. And a little frustrated at times. Coen was fussing just a bit at his 6 month check-up and Nole told the doctor, "Coen is getting frustrated!" I think he's heard me say that a time or two :)
We all love this little guy so much. He is just a part of us now! I am so thankful that we get to know him better each and every day!

Highlights from the day:
- A fun morning in Sunday school and a card from his sweet teachers
- Surprises galore! The first being a trip to see the train in downtown Frisco
-Opening presents! This boy has acquired his fair share of toy cars, trucks, SUV's, you name it :) His family knows the way to his heart.
-Nole received his first bike from mom and dad. He's already a pro at riding it
-A birthday party with his best buddies, and an ice cream cake that lasted the whole week so we celebrated his birthday every night!
There is so much to say about our special birthday boy, but I'll have to save that for a later date!
It's not hard to tell that this boy is well loved. Thanks to all our family and friends for showering him with love and prayers and a even a few gifts. We are blessed to have him as our son!
Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence. Psalm 21:6
Coen John
Introducing for the first time on our blog, our little mister...
Coen John Lorenzen
Born May 27, 2012 at 1:12pm

Coen is our little snuggle bug, laid back one minute and feisty and determined the next. We can't imagine life without our second little boy!
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Baby Boom Boom!
Baby Boom Boom is what Nole calls his little brother! When we were first trying to teach him what was going on in my belly I would make my stomach move when we said there was a baby in there, and I must have said "look, the baby is kicking, boom boom" and it stuck in his mind :)
I love that Nole is really starting to understand what is going on and finally seems ready to acknowledge that a baby will be apart of our family in just a couple of months. It helps that two of his buddies recently got new little brothers of their own, and Nole is really sweet with those babies!
This pregnancy started off so differently then my first. For the first time I experienced "morning sickness". Though mine was actually in the evening and I never got "sick" but I felt pretty terrible most nights from about 6-12 weeks.
With the nauseousness and not feeling like my body was ever back in shape from having Nole I was a little less excited about taking weekly pictures. I really didn't want this baby to feel neglected so once I was feeling better we've managed to take a picture every 5 weeks to watch his and my growth.
15 Weeks- December 16th, 2011
20 Weeks- January 6, 2012
This was the week we found out it is a boy!!
25 Weeks- February 24, 2012
And tomorrow I am 30 weeks so we'll have to take a new picture. My belly is WAY out there now. This little guy seems to be sitting differently than Nole did. Nole seemed to be way down in my pelvis most of the pregnancy which caused more aches and pains. Baby Boom Boom feels like he's just cradled in my belly, all out in front. And he's a mover and a kicker! I'm worried that he never sleeps in there since he moves so much.
I still feel great running. Now I only run every other day, mostly due to laziness and time constraints. In general, I just feel really good. Praise the Lord for that :)
Our college friends, Dan and Alli had their daughter, Kara, in February. Our newest little nephew, Reid, was born a few weeks ago. And our first niece, Payton, is due any day!! It's hard to be patient to meet our new little guy with all of these babies around!
Time is flying by, though, and we're trying to soak up these last months as a family of three. Life will surely hit a new level of crazy once we have two boys this summer, along with all of the other trips and things we have planned. So much to look forward to! We can't wait :)

Playing Catch-up: May 2011
I love looking back through all of our pictures and don't want to miss out on chronicling all of these months I skipped during my blogging hiatus. Here is my attempt to play catch-up.
This is the month that our big boy turned one. He wasn't quite walking at this point. It is so fun to remember him doing some of these things. He liked to play with bubbles and it was a good distraction for him while I got a few things done in the kitchen. He became an excellent bear crawler. After a couple months of trying to crawl on tough turf and track he found this method saved his knees and was a little quicker.
He loves this 4-wheeler and it really helped him practice his walking. Looking at the past two pictures I can't get over how green and nice the grass is. Unfortunately, our grass was planted before the hottest summer in Texas history and after being gone a few weeks on different trips, by July our grass was scorched and dead. Now our lawn is back to a weedy mess that Micah will have to tackle again this spring break.
Nole was showered with birthday cards and gifts for at least a week around his birthday. It was fun for him to have a thing or two to open every day.
Nole spent his 1st birthday at the state track meet. I made him a special shirt so everyone would know that it was his special day!
Hanging out with dad, eating something chocolaty, and playing with his pinwheel...just a few ways to help him stay occupied after a long season of track meets.
After the morning session we took a break at the hotel to open a few more gifts and take a nap. He loves books!
Then at night we celebrated with a birthday muffin.
Yum!
Opened another gift and then went to bed. I think Micah was asleep before Nole. It was a long day and there was still more track to coach on Saturday.
Another day, more presents at home.Testing out his pool, swim trunks and water toys.
but of course, it doesn't last forever. He was glad to be out of the chair after this.
He loves the park. Even when he couldn't walk he would bear crawl across the wood chips to get to the play equipment. He's fearless on the slides.
And fearless with daddy!
Gramma and Grandpa came for a visit at the end of May. We all loved having them around for a few days. Nole had a lot of fun :)
And this is why I need to stay up-to-date on the blog...if we don't have a picture of something, I won't remember it happened! Hopefully I didn't miss anything too big from this month. I remember Micah wrapped up the school year while my parents were in town and that is always something to celebrate!
